ABOUT
US
Science Unlimited provides students grades K-8 creative, interesting,
and challenging project-oriented lessons tailored for a school and
community-based programs.
Science Unlimited's approach aligns to state and federal science
standards while including the critical elements of play and constructivist
learning. Playing with science allows students to learn in a safe
atmosphere where it's okay to make mistakes and try out new ideas.
Constructivist learning allows students the opportunity to develop
their own picture of the scientific world. Rather than simple being
told what the existing theories are, students are given opportunities
to make their own discoveries. Later, the students and instructor
work together to create explanations for the discoveries.
Science Unlimited creates a supportive atmosphere to give both
girls and boys a huge collection of positive childhood experiences
with science. This builds skills in hands-on problem solving, motivation
for youth to pursue careers in science, and a love of science in
future generations.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Science Unlimited makes its
instructional and teacher training services available to a wide
variety of schools, recreation departments, home school programs
and a wide variety of other organzations.
